Ritsu Iijima

Ritsu has the ability to perceive the supernatural, inherited from his grandfather, Ryou Iijima (pen name: Kagyuu Iijima), a novelist who wrote about his own supernatural experiences. Ritsu was dressed as a girl as a small child in order to ward off evil, as per his grandfather's wishes. His grandfather died when he was very young, but left behind Seiran, a guardian spirit contracted to protect Ritsu. Ritsu is in high school when the series begins, and together with Seiranand his cousin Tsukasa, he deals with spirits both friendly and not, supernatural objects and occurrences — and occasionally even real-world problems.
